Off-Campus Learning: Day 09

A Note from Principal Brower

Welcome to school. This is a great week for learning!

A Change -- Daily Lesson Plans Posted Earlier

To allow parents time to review lesson plans for the next day, lesson plans are now being posted at 6:00pm for the next day. Dates are listed at the top of all lesson plans.

Video Conferencing Pilot

Some, but not all, of our ACS teachers are piloting video conferencing with students as we prepare for the possibility of an extended closure. So your child(ren) may have an opportunity to participate over the next few days.

Daily Devotion

Listen: Now we will turn our focus towards Holy Week hearing stories of Jesus’ final days on earth. Please listen to a reading from “Journey to the Cross” by Helen Haidle called “I Don’t Know Him”. This is based on Matthew 26: 69-75; Mark 14: 66-72; Luke 22: 54-62; and John 18: 15-27

Respond: Why did Peter deny that he knew Jesus? When have you denied being a Christian by what you said or did? It can be easy to drift away from Christ-like actions, especially when we want to be liked by others or think about ourselves. Be an example of Christ, even when it is not easy. Respond by sending a Bible verse to a friend or doing a kind thing for a family member or neighbor.

Prayer: Dear Lord, we want to be more like you. Help us to not hide you, but to show you off to others around us. Help us to spread your joy to those around us- even if we have to get a little creative. Lord, please continue to be with our nation as we struggle with the coronavirus. Help us to lift each other up and to boast in your name. Amen
