OE Girls with Chickens

First ACS Summer Market – Wednesday, 11:00-1:00pm

Come and support your young farmers! We’ve been working hard each week in Farm Club to tend to the garden, care for our chickens & goats, and beautify the world in our care.

This Wednesday from 11:00am-1:00pm at the summer garden, we’ll have fresh eggs, veggies, and herbs for sale. Expect thyme, basil, parsley, cilantro, bee balm, mint, oregano, dill, and lemon balm, lettuce, green peppers, cucumbers, yellow squash, zucchini, kale, chard, beets, and edible flowers!

Farm & Forest Adventure Camp – July 23-27

We had a blast at the first round of Farm & Forest adventures and look forward to the second session of campfire feasts, capture the owls, goat hikes, and farm fun next week! If your student wants to join, but hasn’t signed up yet, there’s still a few spots for 3rd-7th graders.

Give Ms. Leah or Mr. Hoo a call/email to reserve a place for your student(s). The camp will take place next week, Monday-Friday, July 23-27, 4:00-9:00pm.

Adventure Camp Session 1

Turning Students into Farmers

The garden is a learning laboratory, a place where senses are engaged and minds invigorated. But the garden is also a resting place, a place to learn how to “be well.” We hope that in learning to love the garden, students will learn to love all of creation (including themselves!) and take pride in caring for it.

Here we are with our first red raspberry harvest in Ada Christian history! We enjoyed these berries in our campfire pies later that evening.

Thank you!

We love working with your children and treasure every moment of enlightenment and joy in the great outdoors. Relationships are growing between students and across species, and we look forward to sharing these moments with you as they unfold. Watch for links each month in the Ada Connection to see your students (and their furry, feathered friends) in action.
