This Week

Faith Strong Friday

It’s that time again. All students, staff and parents are encouraged to wear their ACS gear to school this week Friday, September 09!

Middle School Prayer Schedule

We’d like to invite you to join with our middle school family as we participate in our annual Spiritual Retreat. We have set aside time to deepen our relationship with God and strengthen our relationships with each other. Please follow the prayer schedule (219 KB PDF) and pray with us on Friday, Sept 09.

Ada Christian School: Buy, Sell, Trade

A handful of ACS moms have created a "buy, sell, trade" Facebook page for use by Ada Christian parents. This group can be used for buying and selling goods, sharing services you provide (ex: photographers), asking questions about upcoming events, sharing baby sitters, and those are just a few examples! The group will be what we make it!

Join our private Facebook group to see what's available.

Once you have joined the group please read the group description and guidelines and then feel free to begin posting! If you have any questions please contact any of the following ACS parents:

Alissa Hollander ()
Sheila Hemker (sheila.hemker@gmail.com)
Kristin Contant ()
Shannon VandenBosch ()

PTO Happenings

Wow! Last week Wednesday night was so much fun for both students and their parents. Can you believe ALL that fun and no ACS parent volunteers! For those of you who are new to ACS, this was an epic year for carnival. As long as carnival has been running every parent with a 1st grader or older was assigned a “job” at the carnival. This year you were all free to walk around with your child or share in great conversation with fellow parents. Wasn’t that great!!

But wait! This event still needs a committee to own this much streamlined and user-friendly process. It is the faithful dedication of the committee chairs that we can thank for bringing the carnival to Ada Christian School year after year. For the past 3 years Judy Jackson and Alison Lisiak have graciously chaired the carnival event and done a fabulous job – thank you! Alas, they are ready to retire.

This means you and a friend or two can chair this fun event. Judy and Alison will be happy to share the process and there is a very detailed notebook for them to pass along. The new format should require about 5 hours of planning and then the evening of the event.

The carnival cannot continue without chair people. So if you had a blast last week and would like to be a part of seeing the fun continue for next year, please contact Dawn Raymond (616-238-6606, ) as soon as possible. You will have the full support of the ACS PTO to help acquaint you with this event and the tasks involved.

Carnival has been a treasured and much anticipated event for 30+ years; lets keep it going for many more years!
