Picnic & Carnival – TONIGHT at 6:00pm
- First shift workers are asked to be at their assigned spot by 5:45pm; dinner will be available for these workers at 5:30pm.
- Advanced wristband/ticket sales end today at noon. You may still purchase them in the office after school, but the cost will then be $15 for the wristbands.
- "Show Your ID" T-shirts with our 2015 school theme logo will be available at the Carnival for $5. Get one while they last!

A note from Sue Prins, Hot Lunch Coordinator:
Each month the ordering will be open from the 1st to the 10th. Mark your calendars to fill out an order form during that 10-day “window” each month. Late orders cannot be accepted, so make sure you get your order in on time. During the day I am busy with students, so please contact me via email (gro.naitsirhcada@snirps) with your questions.
Please be mindful of any class outing/field trips schedules that have been communicated by the classroom teachers before ordering each month. Outings may result in students being off grounds during the lunch hour. We do our very best to let you know on the form, but if you order on a day that your child is not in school we are not able hold your child's food.
Young Custodial Help Wanted
ACS is in need of a high school/college aged custodial assistant from 3:30-5:30pm, Monday-Friday. If you have a family member, friend or acquaintance that is interested please have them contact Mr. Bill or Mrs. DeKoster as soon as possible.
Middle School Spiritual Retreat – Need Volunteers
Parent volunteers are needed to help clean, serve food, and pray for our middle school students at their spiritual retreat at Camp O'Malley on Sept 18. We will have two shifts: 8:00-2:00pm and 2:00-9:00pm. The first three parents to call or text Barb Weaver (616.540.9824) for each shift will get the job! Thanks for your help.

- Room Parents – We are still looking for a few Room Parents for grades K-5. Go to http://www.adachristian.org/volunteer to sign up.
Room Parent Orientation will be held, Friday, Sept 11 at 8:15am in the office Conference Room. Contact Dawn Norman with any questions.
- Fall Rummage Sale – We need 3 volunteers to chair the Fall Rummage Sale on October 17th. If you are interested, contact Rachel Boville (moc.oohay@ellivobar) or Dawn Raymond or go directly to http://www.adachristian.org/volunteer.
Yesterday was the start of our PTO Fall Fundraiser, selling Charleston Wrap products. Your child should have brought home a packet explaining the process. We have some great sales prizes this year, including a front row parking spot for the entire school year, and student principal for the morning! The program runs through Sept 15.
Our fundraising goal is achieved if every ACS student sells at least $50 worth of merchandise. Charleston gives us a 50% profit on sales. If you would rather make a straight donation to the PTO, simply make a check to "ACS PTO" and enclose it in the Charleston envelope with a note indicating that this is a donation.

Moms in Prayer – Thursday mornings from 8:00-9:00am
Mom, will you pray for me? I don't know about you, but when I hear one of my kids ask me that question, it just about brings me to tears every time because it reminds me of the incredible privilege I have been given as a mom to participate in God's kingdom building. I've learned that when I pray, not only am I interceding on my child's behalf, but God is changing me, making me more aware of His power, grace and faithfulness. Prayer is such an amazing gift!
I invite you to come join our Moms in Prayer Group every Thursday morning – 8:00-9:00am – as we participate in this gift, reflect upon God's promises revealed in Scripture and pray His Word over our children, their teachers and the ACS community! Not sure? Have questions? Just want to meet the other moms before making a decision? I can honestly say that I had more than a little fear/doubt/inhibition about joining a Moms in Prayer group nine years ago - you are not alone! It is for this reason that we start every season with an informal coffee as an opportunity for you to meet the other moms, learn about Moms in Prayer and ask questions.

PurePlay Sports (Grades Y5-4)
Registration is now closed.
- Meet/greet/practice begins on Saturday Sept 12 – Boys at 9:00am, Girls at 10:00am
- New T-shirts will be handed out
- Athletes need to have shin guards and a soccer ball (Y5/K: size 3; Grades 1-4: size 4)
