Jesus Christ is my personal Lord and Savior and friend. As I look back, I can see how He has been with me. He provided for me each step of the way. Walking beside me, gently pushing, sometimes carrying me, He’s never let me go and never will, no matter what. I can truly say that I’ve experienced the words from Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you...” and this is why I trust Him. It is my passion to work with our children who are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” I love finding joy in my journey and encouraging others in their journeys, as well.
I have had the honor of being involved in Christian Education as an educator for nearly 34 years. Then he opened the door for me at Ada Christian. I graduated from Calvin College in 1985 with a Major in Physical Education and a minor in English.
My first experience was at Hudsonville Unity Christian High School, where I taught PE, English and Health, and coached more than 25 different teams in a variety of sports. During that time I also completed my Master’s Degree at Grand Valley State University in Education. After 23 years there, God led me to Calvin College where I taught in the Kinesiology Department and coached the Women’s Softball Team. Now He has opened the door for me at Ada Christian.
My life has been a journey... one that began in Holland, Michigan and now finds me in Grand Rapids. I have experienced mountaintops and valleys; placid waters and raging rivers.
Born into a Christian home and receiving a Christian education, I was blessed. My parents still live in the home in which I grew up. I attended Holland Christian Schools where I enjoyed being a student and an athlete. I have 3 wonderful children and 3 awesome grandchildren who bring a lot of joy into my life.
I enjoy spending time with family and friends – jogging, walking, playing softball, golfing, playing soccer with my grandsons and jumping on the tramp with my granddaughter, and just “being.”
