A Note From The Principal

God's Word

This class of “students” wasn’t very responsive to my reading in a recent snow day video:). However, one of the reasons for this video, besides making a fun video for the ACS families, was to promote reading. I have to admit that I wasn’t much of a reader as a student. I developed that love later in life and now cherish it. Being in the education world, I can tend to read more about that as well as leadership books. In addition to reading, I like to listen to the Bible each morning. It grounds me. It teaches me. It assures me that the best, most popularly sold book in the world is the one that shapes me into the person God is calling me to be.

This Week

Moms In Prayer

Join us for Moms in Prayer on Thurs, Jan 25 from 8:00-9:00am in the back ACS conference room. Our attribute this week is "God is Mighty". We will be praying specifically for our 1st grade students and staff. Contact Kristen Yeh at any questions. Younger siblings are always welcome.

Statements of Belief

This week we highlight:

We believe in the deity of Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father (John 8:40, 10:33; Acts 2:22); His humanity (John 8:40; Acts 2:22); His virgin birth (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:35); His sinless life (Hebrews 4:15, 7:26); His miracles (John 2:11); His substitutionary and atoning death (I Corinthians 15:3; Ephesians 1:7; Hebrews 2:9); His bodily resurrection (John 11:25; I Corinthians 15:4); His bodily ascension to the right hand of the Father (Mark 16:19; Acts 1:9); and His personal return in power and glory (Matthew 16:27; Acts 1:11; Revelation 22:12).

It is natural to think about the deity of Christ and His virgin birth during the Christmas season and His atoning death at Easter but at ACS we aim to equip students to articulate their faith at all times and in each season. One of our objectives from our strategic plan states: Ada Christian School will equip students to confidently articulate and defend and demonstrate their Christian faith from a Reformed perspective. How exactly does this take shape? One of the ways we equip students to defend their faith is through the study of the book Case for Christ. In both 5th and 8th grade students read portions of this book alongside their Bible reading as they learn to articulate their faith.
