I am living the dream. That’s what I often tell people when they ask about my job. I am thrilled to be the librarian at ACS. I get to read great books and then share them with rapt listeners (both students and teachers). Books can take us to places both imaginary real. We get inside the thoughts of people who may not seem to have anything in common with us, but have so much to teach us.

I graduated from Calvin University with a degree in Elementary Education and taught in Battle Creek and Rockford. After earning a Master’s Degree in Reading Education from Western Michigan University and a Master’s Degree in Library Science from Wayne State University I worked as a school librarian in Byron Center and Marne.

I love to camp and hike with my husband Rod. We’ve enjoyed many national park trips with our family over the years. Even though there are so many places I will never be able to physically see, I can say that I have visited oodles of locales through books including Market Street, Camp Green Lake, Prince Edward Island and Narnia to name a few.

I enjoy volunteering at my church leading children’s worship. Some other delights of my time outside of school are praying with friends, hosting pizza parties and being with family.

I am grateful to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for his gift of eternal life. I humbly try to follow him and live out what it means to "be holy as He is holy."
