“But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be. If they were all one part, where would the body be? As it is, there are many parts, but one body.”
– 1 Corinthians 12:18-20
As I come alongside students, I am always amazed at how each one is gifted differently. Usually I am helping them in an area in which they struggle, so it is good to reflect on the fact that we are all given different gifts and talents which are equally valuable. I love helping kids discover that they can be successful even in areas where they struggle, and I especially like to help kids with math!
I graduated from Calvin College in 1991 with a B.A. in Secondary Education with a Mathematics major. Before coming to Ada Christian, I worked as a middle school math paraprofessional at Moline Christian School for 7 years. Before that, I was a substitute teacher in various schools.
My husband, Tim, and I have two children, Tyler and Kaela. We are members of Peace Church. I enjoy camping, kayaking, jet-skiing, and calligraphy.
