In May of 2017 I graduated from Calvin College with a BA in elementary education and endorsements in math and integrated science. I have also taken classes at Calvin Theological Seminary and went on an Israel Biblical study tour to gain a deeper understanding of the Bible. These opportunities equipped me for returning to the elementary school I attended and loved as child, Ada Christian. I consider it a blessing to give back to the community that played a vital role in my academic, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual upbringing. Every day I look forward to learning from my students, and using their gifts to enhance our classroom environment.

In my spare time, you might find me worshipping on a praise team at Ada Bible Church, journaling in my Bible, or sipping on tea. I also enjoy water skiing, nature walks, traveling, and spending time with family.

I am a sinner who falls short of the glory of God every day. However, it is through Christ’s death and resurrection that I am free. I belong body and soul to Christ Jesus, my Lord and Savior. Because of Christ’s atonement for my sins, I have a personal relationship with God and have conversation with Him every day through prayer and scripture. Daily I strive to be a beacon of light, allowing the Holy Spirit to work in me and through me, which brings me unspeakable joy.

It is an incredible opportunity sharing this faith with my students through every lesson, project, and conversation. My hope is to challenge my students to see the beauty of God’s creation amidst the brokenness. Upon reflection of our marred world, I want to challenge my students to think about how we can redeem and restore creation.
