A Note From The Principal

Grand Friend's Day!

Oh, how special our Grand Friends are!

It is a blessing to have our Grand Friends in our building this year after not being able to welcome them in the last couple of years.

Our preschool friends sang praises today after inviting their Grand Friends in their classrooms.

We look forward to another celebration with our preschool friends on Thursday and then our K-8 students have wonderful plans to worship with their Grand Friends on Friday morning.

What a blessing it is to share the love of Christ and the faithfulness of our great God from generation to generation.

Planning for the Fall

Dear ACS Parents,

While it may seem early to some, plans are already underway for the upcoming school year! We are eager to welcome students in the fall as they begin another year of learning and growing together.

One way ACS prepares for the year ahead is by forming class lists. Numerous factors and complex elements are carefully considered when class lists are generated. Some, but not all, of these include the following:

  • Students’ academic, social, and emotional needs
  • Number of boys and girls in each class
  • Interactions between friends and friend groups
  • Dynamics between individual students and others
  • Opportunities for new friendships to form

By spending a significant amount of time with their students and through many interactions with parents, teachers learn a great deal about each student’s academic, social, and emotional needs. In addition, teachers take special notice and consideration of how students interact with one another as they prayerfully consider combinations of students. This spring, students will provide teachers with a list of their friends, and at least one of those friends will be placed in your student’s class.

ACS will share completed class lists in the August letter.

We respectfully ask parents to not make special requests to teachers or the principal before or after class lists are formed, but to lift our teachers up in prayer as we plan for another school year.

In His Service,
ACS Board and Administration

This Week

Grand Friend's Day - May 06

GrandFriends day is this Friday, May 6. The elementary and middle school students will all be on stage for a time of worship with the GrandFriends. We ask that your student wear nice church-like apparel on GrandFriends day. Please try to stay away from blue jeans, leggings (Middle School), and abide by the dress code rules. Thank you for helping us make this a special day for the GrandFriends and students.

Blessings,
Mrs. Vruwink & Mrs. Van Noord

Moms In Prayer

This week we’re praying for our 6th graders and their teachers.

God is Wise -- One who has wisdom marked by deep understanding, keen discernment, and sound judgement

Scripture: "Lord, may You instruct us in the way of wisdom and lead us along straight paths." - Proverbs 4:11

We’re a group of Moms passionate about lifting up our kids and ACS faculty and staff in prayer — we pray every Thursday, 8:00-9:00am, in the front office. If you have any questions, give me a call (Kelly, 616.304.2963)

We will have the gyms and commons open where your kids will enjoy a variety of games and fun led by the 8th graders. We will not be providing a snack, but if you would like your child to have one, please send one labeled with your child and we will have a safe location for it.
