I’m excited to join the ACS team this year as the new Spanish teacher. I believe learning Spanish fosters unity and bridges language barriers, demonstrating love and compassion to those different from ourselves. My goal is to teach the "why's" behind learning this beautiful language.
I graduated from Grace Christian University (formerly Grace Bible College) with a B.A. in Religious Studies. I dual-enrolled with Cornerstone University and earned a Bachelor's in Elementary Education with a focus on Kinesiology. I played on the women’s basketball team at Grace and later joined one of the five first-division teams in Costa Rica. While teaching 6th grade at the International Christian School in Costa Rica, I attended the Spanish Language Institute and graduated with a degree in Spanish as a Second Language. For the past two years, I have been working at Ada Vista Elementary in Spanish Immersion.
While living in Costa Rica, I met my husband Juan. We now have four children. Our family loves playing and watching sports, going to the beach, camping, traveling, reading, and being active. On weekends, you can find me on the sidelines at my kids' soccer games.
