Sharon Boersma

I believe God has a special plan for each one of the children in my classroom and it is my wonderful privilege, yet awesome responsibility, to guide these children in their 2nd grade year. It is my hope that as a teacher, parents, and children, we grow in Christ together throughout the school year.

I grew up in Grand Rapids and attended Creston/Mayfield Chr. School, Grand Rapids Chr. High School, and Calvin College. I graduated from Calvin College in 1981 with a B.A. in Elementary Education, Fine Arts group major.

Ada Chr. School has had a special place in my heart for a number of years. I taught 3rd grade for two years, then kindergarten for fifteen year, 3rd grade for eleven years, 1st grade for four years, and now 2nd grade. It is especially fun and rewarding for me to welcome ACS alumni back as parents of students in my classroom! I have served on curriculum committees for Bible, Social Studies, and Language Arts, as well as the school’s Long Range Planning Committee and SIT Committee.

My husband Bob and I blended our families fifteen years ago. Together we have six children and eight grandchildren. Bob and I are so thankful to God for the blessings he has given us through our family. We especially enjoy time when all of us can be together.

In my spare time I enjoy time road trips with my husband, 'grandma' time, gardening, walking, knitting, music, and great books!  My friends would tell you I also love to shop!

Church life is also important to me. My husband and I are involved members at Beckwith Hills Christian Reformed Church. I am on the worship committee, play my violin with the worship team, and direct Jr. Choir.
