Off-Campus Learning: Day 05

A Note From Principal Brower

Congratulations! We have just completed our first full week of Off Campus Learning together.  We recognize this past week was filled with unexpected changes and new challenges for all of us. We want to be certain we are connecting with families and that our students are making progress in their school work.

Have you:

  • Signed in for attendance each day? If not, you may change the date at the top of the form to “go back in time.” Having a record of your child(ren)’s attendance is important.
  • Followed the links provided to help your children find and do their classwork?
  • Contacted teachers with questions you may have? We are here to help!

If students are missing work from this week, expect to see an email from each of their teachers later on today. Our goal is to keep all students progressing individually AND together as a class.

As teachers and administrators, we have also had a big week of learning. One thing that we learned from parents is that it would be helpful for us to email Daily Lessons the night before those plans are to be put in motion. So beginning now, Sundays through Thursdays around 6pm you will receive an ACS email sharing plans for the next day.

Have a GREAT weekend. “See” you Monday!

  • Labeled envelopes will be on each table containing student work.
  • A box for work being returned will be on each table.
  • If you are unable to drop-off/pick-up student work, please make arrangements to have a friend or relative drop-off/pick-up for you.
  • To respect the “social distancing” guidelines, please allow 6’ between you and others.

Daily Family Devotion

Listen: Now we will turn our focus towards Holy Week hearing stories of Jesus’ final days on earth. Please listen to a reading from “Journey to the Cross” by Helen Haidle called “The Great Pretenders”. This story is from Matthew 21:18-22; 22: 1-33; John 12: 38-40.

Respond: Jesus claimed that these Pharisee’s were the great pretenders, all holy on the outside but not pure within. Do you ever feel like that? It can be so easy to go through the motions of church and school without having a real conversation with God. Set an alarm for your age in minutes. Find a quiet spot alone and talk to God for that time, you may go longer if you wish. Talk to God about what you are thankful for, scared of, and how you want to grow a deeper relationship with Him.

Prayer: Dear Lord, Thank you that we are able to talk to you. Help us to know that you are in the quiet places, but you are also always around us. Help us to draw closer to you. In Jesus Name, Amen.
