Middle School Matters - Jan 22, 2016
Lunch: For grades 6 – 8 there will be no Hot Lunch next week so remember to have students pack a lunch. Also, lunch will not be until 12:45pm (an hour later than normal) so students might wish to pack a larger morning snack than normal.
A DESSERT THEATRE need: Do you happen to have, or are able to borrow, any 48” (possibly 60”) ROUND PLASTIC TABLES? We need three of them for the show. Folding plastic chairs, too. Please contact Mrs. Weaver (gro.naitsirhcada@revaewg) if you can help out with this request.
5th Grade News
Bible: The Jesus Project is prompting so many great discussions: Jesus’ miracles, parables and teachings. The reading/telling of Pilgrim’s Progress is providing one example after another of God’s grace through Pilgrim’s journey, and we have been able to tie in situations in our own life as well.
Language Arts: We are about halfway through Bring On the Books (B.O.B.). Look for a quiz point/reading ticket update in the Weekly Report today.
Math: We took a quiz on greatest common factors and least common multiples yesterday; these are coming home today. We will continue to build on what we have worked on, and next week we will move on to the second phase of the unit: adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers.
Science: The 5th graders are in the middle of an astronomy unit, and have each been assigned a star to study.
Social Studies: Oh Canada! Canadian maps and the National Anthem.
