5th Grade
Auction: Our 5th grade auction will be on Wed., June 8. We are looking for donations - these can be used items from around the house that you no longer want or need (sports balls, Nerf hoops, purses, stuffed animals, etc). If you wish to donate items to our auction, please send your child with the items to give to his/her homeroom teacher.
Gospel Theatre: Gospel Theatre is taking place June 7 at 1pm followed by a brief end of year celebration.
Bible: This week we wrapped up The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by talking about Aslan’s sacrifice and how it parallels Jesus’ sacrifice. We also prepared for Gospel Theatre.
Language Arts: This week we wrapped up our unit on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe and we took a spelling test with summer-themed words! Next week we only have one more class together for one last Narnia celebration! Please remind your child to return any borrowed books from Miss Zeller’s classroom library.
Math: We have been completing one final year-end review. The students were given a packet with problems from each chapter we covered throughout the year. This packet is due at the end of class on Monday. Have a great summer!
Music - Band: Our last day we play is Monday - can you send a treat for the band to share on Monday? That would be awesome!!! What a great year. ACS music can stay with your student for the summer. Want more music? Let Mrs. VN know - - I have lots of options. Many of our 5th graders could easily join Knollcrest Music Camp - lmk if you would like to pursue this great day-camp music experience.
Music - Choir: We are leading the End of Year Chapel on Wednesday morning at 8:20ish.
Music - Orchestra: Make sure you bring your music to school to be filed for the summer! You will bring your instrument home on today and will not need it for the rest of the year. Parents/ students make sure that you get all the sizing upgrades, repairs needed before school starts again in the fall. Try to practice your instrument this summer!
Social Studies: This week we have been finishing up talking about the Constitutional Convention and discussed the creation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
6th Grade
Thank You Chaperones: Thank you so much for chaperoning us on our rafting trip last week! It was not a warm day - but we were able to enjoy the rainless weather, hooray! At least 97 turtles were viewed, many herons were spotted, and lots of fish as well. Howard had his own raft…it was a great day for him too!
Auction: Do you have anything you could donate to the 6th grade Auction? Peace Tea or cans of pop? A candy bar or two? Or 20? :) Any sort of new or used cool thing would be most welcome - we need any donations by Wednesday June 8 in the morning.
Bible: This week we reflected on all that we learned throughout the year by completing a faith reflection presentation.
Language Arts: This week we took our spelling test and finished reading The Wednesday Wars. We had many great discussions about the funny and serious moments of the story. Next week we will take some time wrapping up the unit before kicking off summer vacation! Social Studies: This week students created their own Kahoot or Blooket trivia games based on information they learned about the Middle Ages. They will have an opportunity to test their knowledge and play each other’s trivia games on Monday!
7th Grade
Bible: 7th Bible students are finishing up their projects for the Paradise Final, please help remind them to share their projects with me asap. We will be presenting the projects to each other to round out the school year!
History: We’re all finished with our first year of US history. We’ll take a look at some map studies for our last couple of days together.
Math - Algebra: Students will wrap up the year by designing a small town and completing other activities.
Math - Pre-Algebra: Pre-Algebra students are finishing up their volume and surface area castles to finish the year off! I am so proud of all the work they have put into this class!

As all spring sports begin to wrap up this week, please be sure to turn in your son/daughters jersey into the office or Mr. Meyaard. Thank you for a fun spring season.
