A Note From The Principal

The God of All Comfort

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

Praise to the God of All Comfort

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God."

Yesterday’s shooting in a Texas elementary school marked another dark day in our world.

ACS mourns with those that have lost a loved one, with those whose school has been rocked by tragedy, pain, and suffering, with those that may not know where or who to turn to.

If you were at Grand Friend’s Day or at our spring concert, you will likely recall our students reciting the Heidelberg Catechism Q & A #1- What is our only comfort in life and death? The short answer of, “...that I belong body and soul, in life and in death to my faithful Savior, Jesus Christ.” Little did any of us know how true those words ring in light of our nation’s existing heartache.

Our school theme this year is, “Standing on the Promises of God,” based on Psalm 145:13b - The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises and faithful in all He does. No matter what happens in our world, we can be assured of His promises.

Be assured that ACS trains its faculty and staff with all necessary safety drills. Students know where to go and what to do in the event of an emergency. Staff members are assigned duty before and after school, at recesses, during lunch, and more volunteers help to keep our property as safe as possible.

Ultimately, God is in control. We trust Him for that. We live by faith, not by fear and rest in His everlasting arms both in this life and the eternity that awaits us.

Moms In Prayer

This week we’re praying for the ACS community.

God is Awesome — One who inspires awe; majestic, magnificent, wondrous, astonishing, amazing, breathtaking

Scripture: LORD, may we pray to You and confess that You are the great and awesome God, who keeps His covenant of love with those who love Him and keep His commandments. From Daniel 9:4

We’re a group of Moms passionate about lifting up our kids and ACS faculty and staff in prayer — we pray every Thursday, 8-9am, in the front office. If you have any questions, give me a call (Kelly, 616.304.2963).

All ACS Moms are invited to a sweet time of fellowship (and coffee!) Thursday, June 2, 8-9am. We'll take this time to reflect on the past year and look forward to the summer and all that He has for us. SO, if there’s some of you who couldn't join us during the year but have watched us through the Ada Connection, please join us for a time of sharing and encourage

Now You Know

Plant Sale

Let us help you plant your summer gardens by offering a variety of plants grown from seed by ACS 3rd grade students.

Order your plants today! Orders will be sent home beginning this Friday and then the following Tuesday and Thursday.

FIRST LEGO League

You’ll love FIRST® LEGO® League! The League members are 4th grade and up that research a real-world problem (like food safety, recycling, energy, etc.). The team will be challenged to develop a solution using new knowledge and creative imagination. The team will also design, build, and program a working robot using a LEGO MINDSTORMS® kit, then complete “missions” on a table-top playing field. Teams compete against each other at exciting events where members will make new friends, show off what they have learned and invented, express team spirit, and celebrate! Sound like fun?

What are you waiting for? Apply to join the ACS FIRST® LEGO® League today!

This club will take place Sept-Dec 2022.

Hot Lunch Changes

Starting next school year we will once again be charging for school lunches. Instructions on how to set up accounts as well as the price of lunches will come in your Back-to-School letter in August. For those needing help with the cost you may apply for Free and Reduced Lunch starting August 1st.

We are happy to welcome back the salad bar! In addition to this we will begin to offer two lunch options each day starting in October.

We look forward to continuing to serve your students!

Any questions regarding hot lunch can be directed to Nancy Michaels,

Please note the menu change for May 31. Lunch will be: french toast strips/waffles, sausage links, potato choice, orange wedges and juice choice.
