Enrollment Forms

Enrollment forms are being mailed out on Wed, Mar 30, and are due April 15. ALL families who have not already done so must also register through FACTS for tuition management - even if you will be making a one time payment. Please remember any family not registered with FACTS Tuition Management will have an additional $75 administrative fee added to their tuition.

Reminder: Families applying for tuition assistance for the 2016-2017 school year will need to complete an application and submit the necessary supporting documents to FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment by May 01, 2016. Funds are limited and we typically allocate our tuition assistance resources by June 15, it is important to be mindful of the May 01, 2016 due date. After June 15, our funds may be depleted.

If you do not anticipate returning to ACS in August 2016, please call the office at 676-1289 or email Sharon Dejong ()

Spring Break

Coming back late? If you are planning to leave early or come back late from spring break with your family please notify the office and their teachers several days in advance. The parent must call or email, not the student. The teachers are not required to prepare assignments or school work in advance for students to take on vacation. Your child’s elementary teacher will hold assignments for him/her and give them to the student when you return.  For middle school, it is the student’s responsibility to ask the teachers what work needs to be made up following the absence.

ACS Service Team Sponsors a Refugee Family – Can you help?

Families from the ACS service team will soon be sponsoring a refugee family.  We will be working with Bethany Christian Services who partners with local organizations to welcome these families and support them as they acclimate to a new country and new life.  As you can imagine, the needs of a refugee family are great.  To meet some of the needs, the Service Team will be collecting new or gently used household items to help get the family started in their new home.  Items needed include but are not limited to: dishes, glassware, small appliances, linens, furniture, etc. Please bring your items to school during the week of April 11-15.  We will have tables set up at the ends of each hallway as well as the main lobby.

Questions? Want to be involved? Contact Lauri Hanenburg ()

This Week

K-5 Reading Challenge from the Library

Library Cleary Link
As soon as our ACS students return from Spring Break, we will be celebrating! On April 12, Beverly Cleary turns 100. We plan to honor this living legend in a variety of ways. One reading challenge will run for the whole month of April. Starting April 01, students are encouraged to read a Beverly Cleary book. Every time your child reads one of Cleary’s tales, he or she may enter a drawing to win a Beverly Cleary book. Winners will be chosen weekly. On May 01, one grand prize winner will be chosen to receive a complete set of Ramona Quimby books.

Kindergarten and first grade students are encouraged to read Cleary’s picture books. 2nd-5th graders will enjoy her chapter books including stories about Henry, Beezus, Ramona and Ralph S. Mouse. Enjoy your Spring Break and, if possible, bring Beverly Cleary along!
