A Note From The Principal
Where to begin…
The process for me to begin the journey to be your next principal actually began in late September of 2020! Did you know that? I didn’t realize the call on my life to ACS until after the application and first interview. Before Christmas of 2020, I was hired as the next principal of ACS and officially started on July 1, 2021.
Today is nearly a full year of me serving this community and I am so blessed! Two words surfaced in the hiring process from my wife and myself - peace and clarity. Those same two words were used by the search committee chair people and those two words have echoed in my head throughout this school year.
This school year was met with challenges. Yet, this school year, past school years, and future school years are/will always be met with the love of Jesus Christ! We felt that again this year. The Spirit is moving in this place. Have you felt it?
I would like to leave you a prayer from a devotional that I was gifted today from this date, June 7:
Jesus, I want to live as a shining example of who I am in you. Give me patience, understanding, and a love for the unlovable, I pray. Amen.
One last cool thing - today is my birthday :)! I don’t always get to celebrate it on the actual day with the faculty/staff/students. What a joy!

Hot Lunch Changes
Starting next school year we will once again be charging for school lunches. Instructions on how to set up accounts as well as the price of lunches will come in your Back-to-School letter in August. For those needing help with the cost you may apply for Free and Reduced Lunch starting August 1st.
We are happy to welcome back the salad bar! In addition to this we will begin to offer two lunch options each day starting in October.
We look forward to continuing to serve your students!
Any questions regarding hot lunch can be directed to Nancy Michaels, gro.scrg@sleahcimn
The May & June menu is here! Take a look at what’s for lunch the rest of the year and plan with your family.
FIRST LEGO League
You’ll love FIRST® LEGO® League! The League members are 4th grade and up that research a real-world problem (like food safety, recycling, energy, etc.). The team will be challenged to develop a solution using new knowledge and creative imagination. The team will also design, build, and program a working robot using a LEGO MINDSTORMS® kit, then complete “missions” on a table-top playing field. Teams compete against each other at exciting events where members will make new friends, show off what they have learned and invented, express team spirit, and celebrate! Sound like fun?
What are you waiting for? Apply to join the ACS FIRST® LEGO® League today!
This club will take place Sept-Dec 2022.
Summer Camps & Tutoring
We will be offering a variety of camps and tutoring opportunities this summer.
Action Needed
Got Shoes? Give Shoes!
Students will be cleaning out their lockers tomorrow. If your child has outgrown their gym shoes this year, please instruct them to place them in a collection box in their hallway when they clean out their locker. Boxes will be placed in each hallway and the front lobby to collect the gym shoes which will then be donated to Baxter Community Center. Thank you!
Become a Host Family
Isn't it nice to see a friendly, familiar face when you start something new? We have host families to welcome new families to ACS. Would you consider being a host family for the upcoming school year? As a host family you introduce yourself to an assigned family that has a child entering the same grade as yours. We encourage you to welcome them and serve as a resource to them as they get acclimated with life at ACS. If you are interested, please email Mark Stuit (gro.naitsirhcada@tiutsm).
