Conferences – A Note of Thanks

As parents entered our school during conference nights, I was reminded in such a strong way that our school has something very special. The partnership between our faculty, staff and parents is so strong! Thank you for the amazing care you give your kids, the way you invest your time and energy to help them do their best, and for the kindness you share with our faculty and staff in so many ways. It is a true joy and honor to partner in Christian education with each of you.

A School Within A School – an “out of the box” opportunity

This past fall our Development Director, Dan Day, learned of a new school and their need for space. Dan connected me to Matt and Dana Roefer, founders of the new Journey Academy. We began meeting in September to consider the “what if’s” of them possibly renting space from us. Our first discussion centered on each of our school’s missions -- recognizing our missions had to be complementary to one another if we were to work together. Having similar missions and with our board’s approval to continue the conversations, we dug deeper into what a school within a school concept could look like.

In January, Matt and Dana came to our board meeting to introduce themselves, share their vision, and answer questions. Mrs. DeKoster and I also met with our Faculty Council to share the ideas and to get feedback. After meeting with Matt and Dana and listening to the rental proposal, our board members had another month to consider their request  and have questions answered. After thoughtful, prayerful consideration, they approved the one year rental arrangement at our February meeting.

Additional information, along with specific questions and answers, is available.

Although our approach to education is very different from each other, our goal to raise Christian agents of change in this world for God’s kingdom is the same. Please pray that our rental agreement with Journey Academy will be a blessing to each of our schools, our families, our community, and to our King.

Action Needed

ACS Open House – Invite your friends to join us!

On Mar 08 from 10:00-12:00pm, ACS will be hosting an Open House for prospective families. Please invite your friends to join us! We would love to give them a tour and share about the ways we partner with parents in Christian education.

Moms in Prayer

Please join us Thursday, from 8:00-9:00am in the office conference room, as we pray for our children, their teachers and the ACS community. This week we will be praying specifically for 2nd grade and we remember that God is our defender.

It will be a sign and witness to the LORD Almighty in the land of Egypt. When they cry out to the LORD because of their oppressors, he will send them a savior and defender, and he will rescue them.

-Isaiah 19:20
