A Note From The Principal

Growth Mindset

I appreciate these kinds of posters in our school building. It shows the difference between having a fixed mindset versus a growth mindset. Some classrooms have similar sayings, just broken out into separate phrases helping students to read them and train their brain from the, “I can’t” to the, “I can” mentality.

As I get into classrooms for observations/evaluations, I also pay attention to how our classrooms exude Christ with what is on the walls. I look for our theme verse about being Clothed in Christ as well as other Bible verses as a means to encourage our students, faculty and staff.

I wonder if we do the same things in our homes? Do people enter our homes knowing that Christ is central to our lives?

2023-2024 K-8 Enrollment Now Open

It is time to re-enroll your student(s) at ACS for the 2023-2024 school year. Please follow the instructions below and do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions. We are excited to partner with you! We ask that you complete the online enrollment form by Fri, March 03.

To complete the enrollment form for 2023-2024:

  1. Log into PowerSchool using your web browser.
  2. Click on "Forms" in the left navigation menu.
  3. Complete the relevant forms.

There is a Tuition & Grants section on the form.

  • The first TUITION amount you see is the calculation for the “Requested” or “Full Cost” amount of tuition.
  • In the GRANT section, thanks to the generous, ongoing support of the ACS Education Foundation and our annual fundraising efforts, you will see the maximum grant amount you may accept towards your tuition. The grants are available for all families. Families that are able to pay the “Requested” or “Full Cost” of tuition will receive a charitable receipt for the difference (Thank You!).
  • For families needing tuition assistance, you may complete an online application through FACTS, by May 05. Qualifying families will be notified of the assistance amounts no later than June and adjustments to your tuition total will be made at that time.

Covenant Care registration is also open at this time. If your family wishes to have Covenant Care for your K-5 student(s), please fill out the Covenant Care form.

We have worked hard to ensure our online enrollment process will go well for our families; however, we realize you may have questions during this process. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.

Regional MAEA Artshow

Every year the Michigan Art Education Association holds a regional art show for students whose teachers are a member of the MAEA. Out of all the students and artwork that has been created already this year at ACS, this competition only allows five entries for kindergarten through 5th grade and five entries for 6th grade through 8th grade. Additionally, the artwork entered into the regional show for display will also be judged for entry into state level shows later in March.

Here is a link to the artwork that is to a digital slideshow of the work that was selected to be sent to this regional show and on for judging.

Helping Kids Get Along at School: What Parents Can Do to Create a Culture of Kindness and Reduce Student Unkind Behavior

Presenter: Marcia McEvoy, Ph.D.

Similar to our Protect Young Eyes Presentation, this is an educational opportunity that we are pleased to offer our families as we partner together to equip students for service in God’s world.

All parents are encouraged to attend. To help us prepare, we ask that you register for this free seminar. Questions? Please contact the office.
