A Note From The Principal
Be the Reason Someone Smiles Today

My wife was ordering some chicken tenders/nuggets at the gas station. She asked the gal there if they had any. The employee responded with, “It will be about 5 minutes before they are ready.” My wife let her know that wasn’t a problem and she could wait. They finished cooking. The employee asked if my wife wanted any dip to go with that and she said that would be great! She said it with a smile. The employee said, “Thank you for being so kind!”
In my wife’s retelling of the story the other night, she wondered how much unkindness a gas station employee deals with on a daily basis - hmmmmm.
Can we be the reason someone smiles today? Will our kindness be contagious? Will our smile spark another smile and another and so on…?

Action Needed
Parent Teacher Conferences
Our teachers look forward to meeting with you next week Tuesday and Wednesday for parent teacher conferences. We desire to partner with you in educating your child(ren) - mind, body and soul in Christian community.
A schedule is attached below for our elementary grades. Please make plans to attend at your scheduled time.
Our 5th and 6th grade conferences will meet in the Library from 4:30pm-7:30pm.
Our 7th and 8th grade conferences will meet in the Commons from 4:30 pm-7:30pm.
The 5th-8th grade conferences are meant to last for up to 5 minutes so as to allow parents the opportunity to meet with various teachers over the course of the evening if they wish to do so. This year we are asking parents to select the 30-minute time slot in which they are expecting to attend so that teachers have an idea of how to plan for those conferences.
Thank you for joining us. We appreciate your partnership and love for ACS!
Re-Enrollment Opens Feb 14
It is almost time to re-enroll your students for the 23-24 school year! On Tuesday, Feb 14 you will receive an email with detailed instructions on how to enroll. We will also include enrollment information in the Ada Connection next week. Please make sure that you have access to your PowerSchool account prior to enrollment. PowerSchool works best when accessed from a laptop/desktop rather than a mobile device.

Helping Kids Get Along at School: What Parents Can Do to Create a Culture of Kindness and Reduce Student Unkind Behavior
Presenter: Marcia McEvoy, Ph.D.
March 14, 2023
6:30pm - Ada Christian School
You are invited for a very special evening on March 14 at 6:30pm as we welcome Dr. Marcia McEvoy, a licensed psychologist who has worked in a variety of professional settings including schools, community mental health, a child guidance clinic, and two universities. Dr. McEvoy spent the day with our staff at our January professional development day.
In this humorous and interactive workshop, you will be presented with information about how to work collaboratively with the school to reduce unkind behavior and create a culture of kindness. You will be shown how to intervene when you see hurtful behavior and will also learn how to help your child respond in a resilient way to everyday worries and hurtful interactions.
Similar to our Protect Young Eyes Presentation, this is an educational opportunity that we are pleased to offer our families as we partner together to equip students for service in God’s world.
All parents are encouraged to attend. To help us prepare, we ask that you register for this free seminar. Questions? Please contact the office.
