Ada Connection

A Note From The Principal

Protect Young Eyes

We had a wonderful turn out for the Protect Young Eyes seminar on Monday night. Thank you for investing your time to learn more about how to protect our kids online.

For additional resources please visit their website.

Wildcats of the Month

At Ada Christian School we educate the whole child Mind, Body, Soul in Christian Community. Students demonstrating excellence are considered for our monthly Wildcat Award. This month the middle school teachers are honored to present the Wildcat award to:

Stephen J. (5th), Lizzie S. (6th), Lily L. (7th) & Brecken C. (8th)

This Week

"Faith. Strong." Friday - Oct 05

On the first Friday of each month we encourage students, staff and parents to wear their Ada Christian apparel in honor of "Faith. Strong." Friday.

Lost & Found

Lost and found will be out for you to look through Thursday and Friday of this week. After that everything will be boxed up and donated.

Moms In Prayer

Join us for Moms in Prayer on Thursday, Oct 06 from 8:00-9:00am in the office back conference room. We will be praying for our 3rd grade students and teachers as well as our own children. Younger siblings are always welcome, and there is no pressure to pray out loud. Contact Kristen Yeh (616-307-2488) with any questions.

Action Needed

Please Review Safety Procedures

The safety of our students and their families is a top priority. Please review these important daily procedures:

Afternoon Pick-Up (3:00pm-3:10pm)

  • From 2:30-2:50pm the bus loop is for preschool pick-up only, please do not park in the bus loop at that time. If you need to pick up your child early from school within that time frame, please park in the lot.
  • The driver must remain within the vehicle at all times while using the car loops. Car loops are not for parking.
  • Load and unload from the curbside only.
  • It is important cars do not block the Fox Hollow entrance.
  • When parking, please back your car into a spot. It is too easy to miss seeing a child when backing out of a spot.

Please review this video for more helpful reminders:

We’ll be open each school day from 7:45am to 3:15pm, as well as during Pure Play on Saturday (8:45am-12:00pm) and Parent Teacher Conferences on Monday and Tuesday (4:30pm-7:30pm).

We can’t do it without YOU! Please sign up to volunteer - it’s fun and easy and you’ll receive 20% off your purchase. Thank you!

Vacation Absence Policy

With fall break coming up please take some time to review our vacation policy:

Please inform teachers with as much advance notice as possible when your child will be absent for a vacation.

Elementary teachers will hold any worksheets given out while a student is gone. These can be picked up when the student returns. Teachers are not required to prepare assignments or schoolwork in advance for students to take on vacation. Sometimes the teacher may request the student to complete a journal during the trip and to turn that in to the teacher.

Dress Code Update/Clarification

Our ACS Education committee has updated/clarified the following part of the dress code:

If pants/jeans contain rips/holes the rips/hole must be at fingertip length or lower.

At ACS we praise God and promote His kingdom in all areas of life, including the clothes we wear. Thank you for helping your student(s) select clothing each morning that meets the dress code.

Picture Orders

Picture orders are coming home today. A few late submissions will come home in the next week or so. The photographer noticed that a number of the prints were printed too light. If you are unsatisfied in any way with your pictures,  please email Karen - request reprints. She will be happy to do so.

PTO Happenings

Charleston Wrap

Excitement is building over which classes will get to pie the principals! This "Pie Leaderboard" in the lobby is updated daily. Who will win?!

Charleston Wrap orders are due on Oct 10.

Support the PTO

In addition to our fall and spring fundraisers below are two easy ways to support the PTO throughout the year.

Box Tops

Buy participating products and use the Box Tops app to scan your store receipt. The app identifies eligible products and earnings are credited to your designated school online. Even if you’re shopping online or doing grocery pickup, you can still submit your digital or email receipt with the Box Tops app and earn. Twice a year, our school gets a check!

Direct Your Dollars

Do you shop at D&W, Forest Hills Foods, or Family Fare? If so, please save your receipts! SpartanNash gives Ada Christian School a $1,000 check for each $150,000 in receipts collected.

The money earned through this program goes directly back to our students through the PTO. Ask your family and friends to save receipts too! Every little bit helps. Receipts can be turned in at the ACS office.

Questions? Please contact Kristen Yeh (, 616.307.2488).
