A Note From The Principal
Exercise Fun!

Students were extremely active in how they understood what it meant to be a driver and a rider (my terms, not the PE teacher). I was walking past the entry doors of the North Gym earlier this week and heard laughter - warmed my heart!
Our students’ strength was tested both as the one pulling the rider and the one holding on. This activity works their arms, shoulders and core. They also learned that taking turns is necessary, because being the driver can be exhausting.
There are two simple goals in this activity:
- Movement
- Perspiration
These students accomplished those goals and were joy-filled in the process. What a blessing it is to have two gymnasiums at ACS!

Combined Bus Route - June 5
We will be running a combined one bus route on June 5.
Statements of Belief
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved will be raised to eternal life, and they that are lost to eternal death (John 5:28-29).
John 5:28-29 - “Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice and come out—those who have done what is good will rise to live, and those who have done what is evil will rise to be condemned.
Reading all of John 5 would be beneficial to get the full context of these two verses. An empty tomb and a risen Savior is the truth that is shared and knowing Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior. Then, living a life that reflects who Jesus is, is evidence of His love for us and our love back to Him.

Student Exchange Program
2024-2025 ACS Robotics
The ACS Robotics League is gearing up for an exciting 2024-25 VEX IQ Robotics Competition season! In our second year at ACS, VEX IQ provides students in grades 4-8 with open-ended robotics challenges that enhance their science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) skills through hands-on, student-centered learning.
Students will work in small teams to develop critical thinking, project management, and communication skills by building and programming robots to solve the VEX IQ Challenge. Teams will put their robots to the test in local competitions starting in January. The time commitment involved in ACS Robotics League is comparable to a sports team. Practices begin in October and will be held two nights per week (Wednesdays and Fridays) with some evening game nights and one or more Saturday tournaments.
- Teams will compete in 4 league night competitions in Grandville beginning in January and ending in February.
- Teams will compete in at least one full-day Saturday tournament in the Grand Rapids area, with the potential for additional tournaments. Tournaments typically take place in January.
- Through regular season competitions, teams have the potential to earn an invitation to the Michigan State Competition that typically takes place in Monroe, MI in February or March.
- Applications for ACS Robotics League are now open and will be accepted through Friday, September 13, 2024. Copies of the application are available in the Ada Christian School office.

Please also note that the State of Michigan has revised its law on immunization waivers.
- If you intend to complete a non-medical waiver to the immunization policy, you must contact the Kent County Health Department at 616.632.7200 to schedule an appointment to speak with a health educator, complete the waiver process and submit the original certified waiver to the school office. The original certified medical waivers must be completed and signed by a physician then submitted to the school office.
- Written evidence that immunizations are now up to date or a copy of a certified waiver must be received before the start of the school year and is due by or on August 20, 2024. A new waiver is required each year that your child is reported.
