A Note From The Principal

Holy Week

What a great celebration this weekend is for us!

There are no better words to share than those in scripture.

Philippians 2:3-11

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus:

Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant being made in human likeness.

And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!

Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Moms In Prayer

This week we’re praying for our  3rd graders and their teachers.

God is Truth — One who is real, actual, fact, full of integrity, and honest

Scripture: Father, may You sanctify us by the truth; Your word is truth. From John 17:17

We’re a group of Moms passionate about lifting up our kids and ACS faculty and staff in prayer — we pray every Thursday, 8:00-9:00am, in the front office. If you have any questions, give me a call (Kelly, 616.304.2963)

Let MI Kids Learn

The Michigan legislature passed two bills last fall which would have provided “student opportunity scholarships” to low-income families for their out-of-pocket educational expenses. Donors to scholarship organizations would receive a state tax credit. The scholarship organization would, in turn, provide scholarships to qualifying public and nonpublic school students for tutoring, school supplies, technology, and tuition, among other expenses. One bill created the scholarship system, and the other created the tax credit. Governor Whitmer vetoed the two measures shortly after the Michigan legislature passed the two bills last fall.

We wanted to make you aware of a petition drive that is now underway that would place the issue before the legislature again, which, if passed, would not require the governor’s signature to become law. The effort to obtain signatures is headed by Let MI Kids Learn, a coalition of organizations that includes the Michigan Association of Nonpublic Schools (MANS), which includes Catholic, Lutheran, and Christian schools across the state and of which Ada Christian School is a member. MANS member schools have been asked to inform parents of the initiative in the event they would like to learn more and also sign the two petitions.

The initiative is not officially sanctioned by ACS. Rather, as mentioned above, as a member of MANS, ACS is sharing information on the petition initiative so that interested parents (who are registered voters) may stop at the school office to sign each of two petitions that are available at the front desk. The petitions will be available through the end of April 2022.

Earth Day Volunteers

On Friday, April 22 our K-6 students will buddy up and deliver plants to our neighbors in the Adacroft neighborhood to celebrate Earth Day. We are in need of parents to ride the bus with students and teachers from ACS to Adacroft and then walk with the students and teachers in the neighborhood delivering plants. Sign up to help!

Thank you for your consideration. We look forward to seeing you!

2022-2023 Enrollment - Deadline Apr 22

Dear Parents,

It is time to re-enroll your student(s) at ACS for the 2022-2023 school year. Please follow the instructions below and do not hesitate to reach out if you have questions. We are excited to partner with you! We ask that you complete the online enrollment form by Fri, April 22.

To complete the enrollment form for 2022-2023:

1. Log into PowerSchool using your web browser.
2. Click on "Forms" in the left navigation menu.
3. Complete the relevant forms.

There is a Tuition & Grants section on the form.

  • The first TUITION amount you see is the calculation for the “Requested” or “Full Cost” amount of tuition.
  • In the GRANT section, thanks to the generous, ongoing support of the ACS Education Foundation and our annual fundraising efforts, you will see the maximum grant amount you may accept towards your tuition. The grants are available for all families. Families that are able to pay the “Requested” or “Full Cost” of tuition will receive a charitable receipt for the difference (Thank You!).
  • For families needing tuition assistance, you may complete an online application through FACTS, by May 06. Qualifying families will be notified of the assistance amounts no later than June and adjustments to your tuition total will be made at that time.

Covenant Care registration is also open at this time. If your family wishes to have Covenant Care for your K-5 student(s), please fill out the Covenant Care form.

We have worked hard to ensure our online enrollment process will go well for our families; however, we realize you may have questions during this process. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
