I gladly proclaim Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. It is my desire to follow Jesus Christ and to share his redeeming love with others.

I was blessed to be born into a believing family. My parents created a childhood for me that was steeped in a deep tradition of faith. Specifically, they provided for me a Christ-focused and loving family, a church community, and a Christian education. These three gifts gave me a foundation to grow and thrive in my own faith walk with Christ.

As a young adult, I accepted Jesus Christ as my own personal Savior. Since that time, I have sought to follow Christ in my personal quiet time, through studying the word of God with fellow believers, and worshipping at my home church Thornapple Covenant. It has also been my pleasure to work alongside my husband in sharing our faith with our own two children and providing them with the gifts our parents blessed us with: a Christ-focused and loving family, a church community, and Christian education.

Because Jesus Christ is at the very core of my life, his word, love, and ministry is infused into everything that I do. As a teacher, my faith in Christ shapes how I teach and treat each child. It is my goal as a teacher to encourage each child’s faith and support each child’s family as we work together to build an environment nurturing a belief in Christ. It is a privilege to share my faith with students and to guide them as they learn about God and his creation.

I graduated from Calvin College in 2000 with a degree in elementary education. After graduating, I was blessed to serve as a 2nd grade teacher at Rockford Christian School. The birth of our son Luke marked the beginning of a new role for me as a stay at home mom. I count each of the 10 years at home with my kids as joy but was excited and ready to return to the classroom in 2013 at rockford Christian as a 3rd grade, share-time teacher. In 2014, God's perfect plan for me unfolded further when I began teaching at Ada Christian Preschool. Working at Ada Christian School, where my own children attend, is a wonderful gift and blessing. I am thrilled to work with the precious children of our preschool and serve at the very school that I attended as a child.

My husband, Robert, and I were married in 2000 and we have 2 beautiful and energetic children who attend Ada Christian School. Our son, Luke, was born in 2003 and our daughter, Kate, was born in 2007. Our children are an absolute joy to us and as a family we enjoy spending time outdoors, playing games, and being creative with crafts and home improvement projects.
