A Note From The Principal

More Than a Carpenter

This book came as a recommendation to read at one of the conferences I attended recently. As I was reading, it seemed familiar and I wondered if I had read an earlier edition years ago. It didn’t matter to me, since I enjoyed the content and later came to a section that really struck me.

On page 166 it reads, “Christianity is not a religion; it's not a system; it's not an ethical idea; it's not a psychological phenomenon. It's a person. If you trust Christ, start watching your attitudes and actions because Jesus Christ is in the business of changing lives.”

I wonder how many people see Christianity as a religion versus a relationship? In this Advent season, accept the challenge to be in relationship with the Person, Jesus Christ, and be in awe of His majesty.

Action Needed

Report Cards Coming Home

K-4 students will come home with their Trimester one report card today, Wednesday, Nov 30. We ask that K - 4 parents please sign and return your child’s envelope to their homeroom teacher.

Parents of students in 5th - 8th grade will receive an email on Wednesday, Nov 30 with a digital copy of the report card. 5th - 8th grade parents can also log into their Powerschool parent portal and click on “Student Reports” in the left navigation to view the report card.

From the Library

Now that the snow is flying and wet stuff can end up in backpacks, we need your help. Last week we had to delete and discard multiple library books, because they had gotten wet and moldy. Please consider putting library books in plastic to keep them safe on their way to and from school. Thank you.

Cold Weather Guidelines

Parents, please make sure your child comes to school wearing appropriate clothing (gloves, hats, boots, coats, etc.) for keeping warm while outside. Students are expected to go outside if the temperature or wind chill is above 0 degrees.

Dec 7-9 - Stuff-A-Bus for Degage Ministries

If you'd like to contribute toward a Christmas gift for our "specials" teachers, there will be a large yellow envelope in the office from December 1st-15th to receive donations. There is no need to specify any one teacher. The Christmas elves will make sure every teacher is taken care of.
