A Note From The Principal

Dots = Meals?

[IMAGE '2020' /]Many of you may have seen the Facebook post from earlier in the week about our 1st grade students in Mrs. Graham, Miss Bonnema, and Miss Filippini’s classes doing various jobs at home to earn money in order to supply meals for Mel Trotter Ministries.

Each dot on the picture represents a meal. Can you count all the dots? Did you read our previous post as to how many meals these students provided? Can you believe that the grand total was 238 meals? Our mission at Ada Christian talks about our students being servants in God’s world. What a testimony this is that our students are living out that mission in our Christian community!

A Warm Welcome

[IMAGE '2021' /]School Social Worker Tracy Schalhamer comes very highly qualified from the Chicago area and is currently an employee of All Belong (formerly Christian Learning Center - one of our partners in education). She is not an employee of ACS, but we were able to secure/reallocate some funding in order to begin working with her. She begins visiting classrooms on Thursday, Nov 18, 2021, and will continue to work one day each week (usually on Thursdays) from 9:30am - 1:30pm. Her purpose tomorrow is to introduce herself and begin discussions with Mr. Sall about connecting with parents whose child(ren) could benefit from her services.

Below is a correspondence from her, just so you have a point of reference:

“Good Morning! I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Tracy Schalhamer, and I am a social worker with All Belong. I have been a school social worker in Illinois for 28 years. My three children attended Christian schools from preschool-12th grade. We recently moved to Holland and I was fortunate enough to find a great organization like All Belong to continue my work with students and staff!

I look forward to learning more about Ada Christian!

Have a Blessed Day!

Moms In Prayer

This week we’re praying for our 6th grade teachers and students.

God Rescues —  One who saves or delivers from confinement, danger, or evil

Scripture: "LORD, may You reach down from on high and take hold of me; may You draw me out of deep waters. May You rescue me from my powerful enemy, from my foes, who are too strong for me." Psalm 18:16-17

We’re a group of Moms passionate about lifting up our kids and ACS faculty and staff in prayer — we pray every Thursday, 8-9am, in the front office conference room. Siblings always welcome. If you have any questions, give me a call (Kelly Stafford, 616.304.2963)
