A Note From The Principal

Isaiah 9:6

Initially, I wasn’t going to add to this picture that it is in our commons area of ACS, but the fact that our Savior came as a baby as part of a master plan from His Father humbles me on a consistent basis.

The fact that all authority rests upon Him also provides a peace that only believers have a chance at experiencing. Recently, in our staff devotions it was mentioned again that the hope of Christ exudes a confidence in believers that they can go out into the world trusting God for His plan even if we don’t understand them.

Be comforted today in the promise of our Savior, Jesus Christ; that he came specifically for you!

Moms In Prayer

This week we’re praying for our building staff and bus drivers.

God is the Revealer — One who makes known or brings into view; discloses

Scripture:  Glorious Father, may You give us the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that we may know You better.

        From Ephesians 1:17

We’re a group of Moms passionate about lifting up our kids and ACS faculty and staff in prayer — we pray every Thursday, 8-9am, in the front office conference room. Siblings always welcome. If you have any questions, give me a call (Kelly Stafford, 616.304.2963

Action Needed

Parking Lot Reminders

Please remember to come to a complete stop at all stop signs in the parking lot.

To improve safety at the Fox Hollow entrance, we ask that you adhere to the following:

  • Cars may not block the Fox Hollow Drive entrance.
  • Cars may not line up on Fox Hollow Drive.
  • As the loops begin to fill, cars must find a spot in the parking lot area to wait their turn to get back in the loop.
  • When using the loops, cars must remain in one single file lane and must keep moving. Please do not leave space between you and the car in front of you.

Thank you for keeping everyone safe!

Board Nomination

It is time to begin the nomination process for our 2022-2023 School Board Members. Submit a nominee for the Ada Christian School Board.

Snow Day Reminders

As we enter the winter months, here are a couple reminders for you:

If fog or weather conditions result in a two hour delay or closing being necessary, you will receive an email and text notification from ACS; it will also be posted on Facebook and Wood TV. ACS relies upon Forest Hills Public Schools Transportation Department to assess road conditions. We close when they do during weather emergencies. If Lowell Public Schools closes and Forest Hills Schools remain open, ACS will remain open.

To make ACS text messages easier to recognize, we have created a simple way to add ACS as a Contact to your mobile device. Click to add ACS as a contact.  Then, when we send you a "School's Closed" message, you'll know who it's from and can plan your day appropriately.  You can also text “Yes” to 87569 to ensure you are set up to receive text messages from ACS.

Updated Attendance Policy

Effective immediately - Any student that comes late to school within 10 minutes of the 8:00 AM start time will be considered “tardy.”

Any student that is late beyond 10 minutes will now be tracked according to eighths of the day (about 50-minute increments) within the PowerSchool system.

Reasoning for this change - ACS is committed to a more accurate form of attendance for its families and its staff.  The full absenteeism policy can be found on our website under Policies & Procedures.

Advent Walk at ACS

Join us on Dec 16 for our ACS Advent Walk on the grounds of Ada Christian School from 5:30-7:30pm. Walk the trails in reverence as you reflect on the first Christmas and hear about the Christmas story from live actors. More details to come later this week!

Chess Club

Chess Club with Mr. Hoo is back! Please complete the attached club form and return with payment to the front office.

Annual Fund

This year we have an Annual Fund goal of $335,000. Good news, through tuition gifts and other gifts we have already raised $244,000. What does the Annual Fund do? The annual fund directly supports our tuition assistance program as well as supplies the extra resources needed for ACS to deliver an education tailored to our students' unique needs and learning styles. The Annual Fund makes an immediate impact on our school. If you have given to the Annual Fund in the past, thank you. We hope you will continue your tradition of giving again this Christmas season. If you're considering giving for the first time, please know what a huge difference your gift will make for our kids here at ACS.

Questions, please feel free to contact Mark Stuit, Director of Advancement.

2021 Giving Statements

Your 2021 Giving Statements for ACS and the Education Foundation will be mailed out the first week of January. If you have any questions on your giving, please contact Mark Stuit, Director of Advancement. Thank you!

PTO Happenings

Christmas Gifts for Specials Teachers

We are blessed to have many amazing "specials" teachers at ACS. They allow our kids to enjoy music, art, OE, library, PE, technology, Spanish, orchestra, and band. If you'd like to contribute toward a Christmas gift for our "specials" teachers, there will be a large yellow envelope in the office from December 1st-10th to receive donations. There is no need to specify any one teacher. The Christmas elves will make sure every teacher is taken care of.

Staff Favorites

Good News! You can now access staff favorites from the ACS website under the family dashboard. This is a great place to find favorite restaurants, stores, hobbies, or classroom wish list items for any of our staff.

ACS Athletics

PurePlay
