A Note From The Principal

Faith Strong

We may talk a bit about our tagline Faith Strong to each other or maybe with those that ask about ACS. Lately, I have done a lot of tours/get to know you meetings especially for families continuing with us from our preschool program to K-8. In those meetings, i get a chance to show them parts of the building, talk about their faith journey and pay attention to the hallway names.

Each family typically nods and is impressed with the intentionality of Strong Beginnings, Strong Growing and Strong Living for each of our main wings.

I wonder if our students realize that these slogans aren’t just words on a wall. They are essentially one part of the core of our mission and values - to be rooted in the Faith Strong mentality of who we are and Whose we are.

Moms In Prayer

Join us for Moms in Prayer Thursday, January 26 from 8:00-9:00am in the back ACS conference room. Our attribute this week is "God is our Father." We will be praying specifically for our Covenant Care staff. Contact Kristen Yeh (616-307-2488) with any questions. Younger siblings are always welcome.

2023-2024 Important Enrollment Information

Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe that we are already thinking about the 2023-2024 school year. With that said, we have some important enrollment details for you. Below you will find information regarding both preschool and K-8 enrollment. 

Preschool Enrollment is now open! If you have questions about preschool options or enrollment information please contact gro.naitsirhcada@yelmroGJ.

K-8 Enrollment opens this year on February 14, 2023. On this date all current K-8 ACS families will receive a link to enroll for the 2023-2024 school year. All families who have completed their application and tour/interview with Principal Sall will also receive the link to enroll. 

SEED Market

What? The Ada Christian S.E.E.D. Market
When? Friday, January 27 from 2:00-4:00pm
Where? Ada Christian North Gym 
Who? Parents, students, and anyone in the community
Bring? Money to purchase bracelets, slime, stress balls, home decor, baked goods, jolly pops, and much more! Prices range from $0.25 - $10. Cash or check written out to Ada Christian School are accepted.

S.E.E.D. stands for: Service Entrepreneurship Education and Design

The 5th and 6th graders have spent time learning about the needs of others in our local and global community. The SEED market offers 5th & 6th graders at Ada Christian an opportunity to create, make, and market a product while understanding the importance and power of micro-financing - something that is an essential aspect to non-profits all around the world. All proceeds from the market will benefit Mission India and World Vision.

Action Needed

Parent Teacher Conferences

Conferences are scheduled for Feb 14 & 15. We encourage all parents to make it a top priority to attend these conferences. Conferences for grades Kindergarten through 4th grade will be scheduled in 15-minute increments.

We ask that K-4 families fill out the scheduling form. Today is the last day to submit your preference. 

5th-8th grade conferences are open 3-minute time slots to speak to all of your child’s teachers in the commons. If you would prefer a 15-minute conference with one or more middle school teachers, please contact your child’s homeroom teacher to schedule.

Daddy Daughter Dance

It's the last week to buy tickets! Join us for a Winter Wonderland Daddy Daughter Dance on Feb 03 from 7:00-9:00pm! Buy tickets ($30 for Dad & Daughter, $40 for a family) on Eventbrite or in the school office by this Friday, Jan 27.  

Direct Your Dollars

As of last week we have earned $7,000 through Direct Your Dollars. Thank you to all who bring in receipts week after week, every dollar helps us reach our next goal.

Basketball:
1st-4th mid-week practices and Saturday games.
Y5/K Saturday, 9:30-10:30am 

Spring soccer signups are now open:
Saturdays: April 15-May 20.
9:00-10:00am or 10:30-11:30 am (rotates weekly) 
Cost: $50-$70 per student

1st-4th grade will have one practice during the week. Day/Time TBD by coaches. Please consider coaching.
