Mary Kladder
I have been teaching string orchestra at Ada Christian school for the past 15 years and during this time the orchestra has expanded from just 7 string players to approx. 40 to 45 strings. I have taught in string clinics in the Forest Hills school district, at St. Cecilia music society, and at Grand Rapids Christian Middle School. I teach at Knollcrest summer music camps also. Currently I also instruct 50 students each week in private lessons on violin, viola and cello. I also coach string quartets and small ensembles for local performances. I played violin in the Grand Rapids symphony for several years. I also play in a professional string quartet. We perform for the festival of the arts, the winter concert series at G.R. Art Museum and at St. Cecilia Music Society. Our quartet also performs in area schools to promote the women as professional musician program.
I grew up in grand rapids and attended Christian schools. I am married to Peter Kladder III and we have three wonderful daughters. Two daughters are married: Kate and Ben De Vries live and work in the Chicago area. Laura and Dallas De Jong are both teachers and live in Grand Rapids. Liz is a college student. Riley is our super friendly dog and keeps us company at home.
I am so thankful to be able to teach at Ada Christian school where we can share our faith with our students. What a blessing it is to encourage each child to use their musical gifts and talents to glorify God and help them to learn and perform music to share in worship services, school chapels and area rest homes.
