Professional Biography:

After Creston Christian School and Grand Rapids Christian High School, I received my teaching degree from Grand Valley State University with majors in math and English. I received my Masters in secondary education. The class which has had the most impact on my life was “The Christian Discipleship Seminar” lead by William Shell at Cornerstone University. For my first 20 years at Ada Christian I taught middle school language arts and Bible. Since then I have been teaching middle school math and Bible.

Personal Biography:

Carolyn and I were married in 1969 and have been blessed with 5 children (all ACS graduates), a son-in-law, a daughter-in-law, and 2 grandsons. Four of the five live west of us (Texas, Iowa, Arizona, and Alaska), but the grandsons and their parents are only 1 hour away. We are active members of Ada CRC. Tuesday night Friendship Club is our favorite.

Faith Statement:

As the Body of Christ we (our classroom, our middle school, our school) are called into community. Our primary place for showing we love the Lord by loving those around us is here at school. We do so joyfully, knowing Christ has called us and equipped us. In math classes we discover the complexity and the order that is evident in the world God has created. In Bible classes we grow in and respond to the great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God.
