Professional Biography: 

I am a Calvin College graduate with a major in History and Secondary Education. Immediately upon graduation, I accepted a position as sixth grade teacher at Southwest Christian School (now Calvin Christian in Grandville) and went back to school for my Elementary  Teacher Certification. Soon after that, I received my Master's Degree in Elementary School Administration from the University of Michigan.

My career includes serving as principal at West Side Christian, Seymour and Millbrook Christian Schools, then twelve years in Holland Public Schools and as Interim Principal here at ACS in 2010. 

I am currently serve as Director of Development for both Ada Christian School and the ACS Education Foundation.

Personal Biography: 

I am happily married to my wife of forty-two years--Lois (Ophoff). We are the grandparents of six.  Our oldest grandchild is a 1st grade student here at ACS. 

Lois and I are parents of three children--Crista, Ryan and Kara.  Our girls live in the GR area, Ryan lives and works in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

We are members of 14th St. Christian Reformed Church in Holland.

Faith Statement: 

I believe that Christ is the center of our lives and must be the center of our educational efforts.  Parents, teachers and pastors work together to provide a consistent message to our students--our world belongs to God.  We are here to serve Him.

We have as our mission to "Equip students for service in God's world". This mission is only attainable with the cooperative efforts of a Christian community.

I am pleased to be a small part of the efforts to assist in bringing about God's kingdom here.
