I attended Calvin College and earned my B.A. in Elementary Education. I began my teaching career in Pennsylvania teaching third and fourth grades at a small Christian school. From there I returned to Michigan to teach preschool and kindergarten. I have been teaching kindergarten at Ada Christian since 1998. In 2001 I earned my Masters Degree in Early Childhood Education from Grand Valley State University.
My husband and I have one daughter. We are members of Oakdale Park Church where I enjoy being a leader of Children’s Worship and a women’s bible study. I also enjoy being part of a book club, working in my flower gardens, making digital scrapbooks, and creating special traditions with my family.
It is a joy and delight to be able to work with young children and share with them the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. In every area of our day we can see the fingerprints of our heavenly Father. Often I am reminded of the words – “A little child shall lead them.” It is refreshing to see the world through the eyes of a kindergartner. Kindergarten lays the foundation for future schooling and it is exciting to be part of the spiritual, academic, social, and personal growth that occurs over the course of this important year. It is a great pleasure to get to know each child and all that is special about them. Each one is a gift from God!
