Response and Preparedness Plan

Introduction

Over the past several months, we have all experienced new challenges. As a Christian school community, we have walked together in faith to face the challenges to public and personal health, work interruptions, personal and family finances, and community engagement that have impacted our families, churches, schools, and communities. For nearly 70 years Ada Christian School has strived to live our mission to equip students for service in God’s world, mind, body and soul in Christian community. We are working now in faithful confidence to continue living our mission.

To that end, a group of ACS staff and administration along with Board representation began meeting in early June to develop a plan for safely educating our students through these unique times. Our team has consulted with Christian Schools International, other area schools, Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools, our local Health Department and the Michigan Safe Schools Road Map. We have reviewed the results of both parent and teacher surveys, taking levels of comfort and concern into consideration. When developing the following plan the safety our school community has always remained our top priority.

The ACS Response and Preparedness Plan is in line with the six phase Michigan Safe Schools Road Map. Within our plan each family will be able to select the learning plan that best suits the needs and comfort levels of their family. As phases and new information continue to develop, Ada Christian School is committed to partnering with our families in the safety of our students, families, faculty and staff.

In the following document you will find a summary of parent feedback, an overview of Phase 3, Phase 4 and Phase 5 along with specific safety protocols, and at the end a list of Frequently Asked Questions.
