I love building a Christ-centered classroom environment. I love sharing stories from my life to show how God has challenged me and taught me throughout the years. I love hearing the stories of joys and concerns my students have and praying for them. I love showing how God has always been in control from the time of Adam and Abraham to today. I love learning about different cultures and seeing how God is ruler of all. I love showing the order and patterns God has put in His creation as we explore the world of math. Finally, I love building meaningful relationships with my students and partnering with their families to encourage students to grow in grace and in their relationship with the Lord.
I started “working” at Ada Christian School as a kindergarten student in 1982. Thankfully I graduated from kindergarten and went on to enjoy eight great years at ACS. I graduated from Calvin College with a B.A. in Education in 1999 with a focus on history and mathematics. Later I earned a Master's Degree in Education Technology from Western Michigan University. After getting my feet wet as a middle school teacher in Florida, I joined the staff at Ada Christian in 2002.
My wife and three boys are members of First CRC in Grand Rapids where we are blessed to be worshiping with four generation of Wittes. I enjoy hanging out with my family, golfing, bowling, church softball, and going to sporting events during my free time.
