I believe that each of my students is a covenant child of God. I want each child to understand that they are uniquely created by God to love and to serve Him, and to realize that God is still working His will in each of our lives. I have been called by God as a teacher to help each child discover the gifts that God has given them and to partner with their parents in this journey. I pray that each child will leave third grade with a love for each other, for learning, and above all, for God.
I am a graduate of Calvin College with a BA in elementary education with a Language Arts group major. I have been teaching at Ada Christian since 1981. Most of those years have been in 3rd-grade, with a few years teaching 4th-grade as well. I have enjoyed taking a variety of courses over the years to learn new ways of teaching.
I was born and raised on a farm near DeMotte, Indiana. I’m married and have 3 children. My family and I currently live in Ada and attend Cascade Fellowship CRC. I enjoy music, reading (especially mysteries), and am known as the family animal-lover.
