Spanish

Ada Christian School offers a Spanish Language program as another avenue of learning and appreciation of God’s World and His work through various cultures. Language is a beautiful gift from God and by being introduced to it we are able to communicate with and better understand the perspectives of millions of people on this earth.  The goals of the program are to equip students with a functional use of Spanish in communication, but also to increased awareness of language and culture and an increased appreciation for the variety of God’s creation reflected in the many cultures of the world.

Listening, reading, writing, and speaking Spanish are all important parts of language acquisition.  In elementary classes, listening and writing are utilized most often to help introduce students to the sounds and vocabulary.  In middle school, listening and writing continue to be important, but there is increased emphasis on reading and listening.  Instruction is more grammar-based as verb conjugations and complete sentence formation are key components of the middle school curriculum.  The middle school Spanish program allows students the option to being Spanish II in some high schools.
