2nd Grade

Second grade is a wonderful year of building upon what was learned in Kindergarten and First Grade. We concentrate on bigger and better reading and writing assignments through many interesting Social Studies and Science units. A few of these units include Whales, Native Americans, China, Alaska, and Rocks & Minerals. Second grade students also work on double-digit addition and subtraction, telling time and counting money to prepare for Third Grade.

Second grade is an age when many children are just beginning to understand the concept of God's love for them and God's place in their lives. At Ada Christian we strive to show these young children how God works in and through their lives each and every day at home, church and school. We do this through prayer, devotions, Bible stories, Gathering Time, journaling and sharing our stories of faith.
