Kristin Contant
I have attended Christian schools throughout my life, beginning with Rock Valley Christian School in Iowa and continuing through college, Dordt College. Currently I am finishing my master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction at Dordt College. I began my teaching career teaching at San Jose Christian School and have enjoyed teaching at Ada Christian School the last 7 years.
God has blessed me with a wonderful husband. We are members of Redeemer Presbyterian, and I am involved in the music ministry. During our free time we love to travel to visit our families in Iowa and Canada.
I believe that the purpose of Christian schooling is to be an extension of the educational role given by God to Christian parents. Christian schooling should encourage students to grow and mature as Christians by integrating truths into all areas of teaching, and help students form a biblical understanding of mankind, culture, and the world. One of the ways that I do this is by having students analyze themes of our stories/novels from a biblical perspective. We are then able to apply the biblical truths to our lives in practical ways.
