My involvement in Christian education began when my wonderful parents put a freckled face five year old on a bus traveling to one of the Kalamazoo Christian Schools. I continued my journey there through high school. I attended Calvin College and WMU. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in elementary education. I have taught in grades 1 – 6 for twenty plus years in Christian schools in the Chicago and Kalamazoo areas before coming to Ada Christian. I enjoy researching new and exciting ideas and curriculum to incorporate into my classroom.
My husband, Bob, and I have three busy and wonderful daughters, two of whom are attending Calvin College. Our youngest daughter is currently at NorthPointe Christian High School. We are members of LaGrave Christian Reformed Church where I have been involved in various children’s programs. As a family we enjoy skiing, tennis and running.
What a privilege and blessing it is to teach here at Ada Christian walking in prayerful steps with my students and their parents to provide the best education possible for the covenant children entrusted to me. The goal of my instruction and example is to develop the best qualities in each unique child, so that he / she will mature into a sincere and faithful follower of Christ, using their talents and gifts for God’s purposes, and for the furtherance of His Kingdom. I strive to instill enthusiasm for learning about our Father’s world. I can think of no other vocational choice that would challenge and engage me the way that teaching does. Each day I have a new opportunity to touch a child’s life and soul!
